Obstacle race
On the eve of the Great Victory Day, an extreme obstacle race ACADEMY was held for the first time near the walls of the Krevo Castle. It was dedicated to Victory Day and the Year of Peace and Creation.
More than 100 people from different parts of Belarus (Minsk, Brest, Pinsk, Bobruisk, Smorgon) as well as from St. Petersburg, Moscow and Zelenograd volunteered to try their skills in the competition. The youngest participant was 6 years old, and the oldest one was over 50. In the framework of the competition there were children's and adults' individual races in different age categories, elite and team races. Depending on the age children were to overcome a distance of 1 and 3 kilometers, and adults - 5 km. There were natural and artificial obstacles along the way.
In each of the races were determined winners and prize-winners, who were awarded medals, gifts and cash prizes.
Vasiliy Tumash:
I am from the village of Malinovaya, Smorgon district. I am 53 years old. I am engaged in different kinds of sports, but I took part in such a competition for the first time. The organizers invited me, and I did not refuse. I got a lot of adrenaline and positive emotions.
Maxim MAZANIK:
I am one of the first extreme steeplechase coaches in Belarus but I have never participated in such competitions. In Minsk we have a gym where we train. Today many of those who study with me have taken first places. We try to popularize this sport, because it is spectacular and interesting. It requires not only strength, but also intelligence.
Maxim TIMOSHENKO:
I am from Bobruisk. I have been doing steeplechase for two years. It is a multifunctional sport, which combines many directions. Today I have my first victory in the men's individual race in the category 30-39 years old. We came here as a TURBOBRY team of 15 people. We have our own gym in Bobruisk where we train hard. We regularly participate in races in Belarus and Russia.
Prokhor and Kira:
We came from Moscow. We took first places among boys and girls in our age category. We take part in almost all competitions that are held in Russia and Belarus. Soon we will go to Hungary for the European Championship. We came here together with my parents and sisters who also take part in the race and support us. We think that the race is very well organized.
Tatiana Pechtereva:
I constantly participate in BISON RACE races, world championships, two-time European champion, I am a multiple winner of races in Russia, Ukraine and other countries. I am engaged in steeplechase since 2015. Before that I was involved in tourist-applied multiathlon, Master of Sports. I came to the competition together with my children, who also do sports. I liked the location very much. It's beautiful to start at the castle walls. The race is well organized. I’d like to come here again.
