The Castle of Krevo is certainly the pride of the Smorgon region. It was the first castle completely built of stone in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The castle is being actively restored today. The ancient architectural monument attracts Belarusian and foreign tourists who seek to see the unique sight with their own eyes.
Today The Castle of Krevo offers guests interesting excursions. Various events are held near its walls in summer. ‘Ceramics of Krevo’ has become a traditional festival-fair. It will gather again everyone who wants to join the restoration of the cultural heritage of Belarus. This year it will take place on August 13.
– Every visitor of the festival will have the opportunity to feel like a real master of ceramics as the best ceramicists from different regions of the republic will hold various master classes. Visitors always enjoy the fair of wonderful ceramics for every taste - from traditional to modern glazed ceramics, from dishes to souvenirs. For the little visitors there will be areas for games and creativity. A festive mood will be created by various performances of creative groups, authentic Belarusian games and entertainment, - said Maria Klyuisha, the chief specialist of the culture department of the regional executive committee.
The organizers of the festival are confident that residents of neighboring countries will not regret attending the event. Pottery is one of the oldest art crafts of Belarus. Therefore, where else (if not here) you can get to know the skills of ceramicists who turn a piece of ordinary clay into a masterpiece, cannot you?
